Welcome to HOME WELLNESS

WITH JOANNA HALL

Move beyond counting your steps and discover how to make every step count. Walking is something most of us do every day, but how well are we actually using our bodies when we walk?

Join Joanna Hall, MSc Sports Science and Creator of The WalkActive Method, for an immersive, practical workshop exploring how better walking technique can help you develop stronger core activation, improved posture and balance, greater stability and a more confident, purposeful pace.

The WalkActive Method is a scientifically proven walking system. Independent sports science research has shown that the Method can improve posture, reduce strain through the knee and ankle joints and increase walking speed by up to 24%.

But WalkActive isn’t about simply walking faster, and it isn’t about accumulating more steps.

It’s about understanding how your body works as you walk.

You’ll explore the connection between your feet, hips, core, posture, arms and pace, and discover how these elements work together to create a more stable, efficient and confident stride. You’ll experience how better technique can naturally support your core, improve balance and help you generate pace from better movement rather than simply trying to walk harder.

Through a combination of practical studio work and opportunities to put your technique into action as you walk, Joanna will introduce you to simple but powerful WalkActive drills that you can take straight into everyday life.

New to WalkActive? You’ll discover the essential foundations and experience how surprisingly different better walking can feel.

Joined Joanna before? This workshop gives you the opportunity to progress your technique with fresh drills and deeper coaching around posture, core activation, stability and pace.

Most importantly, this workshop creates a bridge between what you practise at HOME and how you move beyond the studio. The posture you develop. The strength you build. The balance you practise. The sense of calm and body awareness you cultivate. WalkActive helps you take those qualities with you into something you do every day: walking.

You’ll leave with practical tools to help you:
– create stronger, more natural core support as you walk
– improve posture, balance and walking stability
– develop a smoother, stronger and more purposeful stride
– understand how technique and pace work together
– move with greater confidence and ease
– make your everyday walking work harder for your health and wellbeing

Feel the difference in one session. Walk better. Move better. Live better.

NOTES
Here are a few things to help you prepare ahead.

Footwear
The first part of the workshop will be in the studio and you’ll be barefoot. For the outdoor components, please bring comfortable footwear that allows your foot to move. We recommend a trainer ideally with a more flexible sole and a wider fitting so you can appreciate how your foot moves to the respective drills and walking cues we’ll share with you.

Clothing
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows your body to move with ease. We WalkActive whatever the weather so, while the forecast is set to be dry, it’s always useful to bring a lightweight waterproof just in case.

Headphones
We’ll be showing how music and walking cadence impacts your physiology and gait…so if you have a pair if headphones please bring these with your smartphone as it can improve your experience.

Questions
For any specific questions you can always reach out personally to [email protected]
